In this tutorial you will learn how to collect reviews automatically tthrough SMS after a sale happened on your payment solution. Whether you use Amazon Seller Central, Stripe, Shopify, Woocommerce, Ebay, Paypal…or any other tool available on Zapier ; the steps of this tutorial will be similar. For demonstration purposes, we chose Paypal.
To create your account go to this page and enter your information. Zapier will send you a Account creation confirmation email which allows you to connect.
Note that Zapier offers you free 100 interactions per month. You can without subscription send a 100 SMS per month through your mailbox and this by having only as a cost the price of an SMS.
From the dropdown trigger list select the most useful one according to your needs :
Refunded Sale / Successful Sale / Successful Sale (with line item)
Other triggers are available but for the purposes of this tutorial we went for « Successful Sale » to ask a review to customers each time they purchase.
1-Message : the SMS’s content. You can write text manually and use dynamic tags such as :
First / Last Name
Item Names
You will need to paste a link to your feedback tool (Google Business, Trustpilot, you website…) Here’s how to get a Google Maps review link .
2-Message Push Type : select «marketing» . This won’t allow SMS to be sent between 10 PM and 8 AM from Monday to Saturday, entirely on Sundays and public hollidays (according to the French law on marketing campaigns ; this may not apply to your country).
3-Date to send : in this example I am writing "next Saturday at 7PM" (next means the week after, not the current one). Here’s how to format time stamps in Zapier.
4-Sender : sender’s name. Optionnal ; insert your company’s name in order to be recognized by the customer .
5-GSM Number : stand for the recipient’s phone number. Select the corresponding dynamic tag (« Contact Phone »for Paypal for instance).
